Wendy Cheng

Wendy Cheng, better known as Xiaxue, is arguably Singapore's most famous celebrity blogger. Her popular blog xiaxue.blogspot.com amasses a readership of 30,000 daily, consisting mostly of trendy, connected teens, and young adults. Standing for everything bold, in-your-face, and fun, she soon started receiving endorsement deals from savvy marketers keen to tap into her huge pool of readers.

Wendy scored her very own TV show on Channel 5’s called "Girls Out Loud" in 2006, which caused a buzz in the community for its quirky spin on life. She made waves with her candid style, no-holds-barred attitude, and natural comic timing. Her ongoing web series "Xiaxue's Guide To Life" is one of the most popular web shows in Singapore, with the highest-rated episode viewed by over 325,000 people and counting!

Only half a year after Wendy started blogging, she bagged the Best Singapore Blog at the Asian Weblog Awards 2003. She also won the award for Best Asian Blog for 2 years running, and is the first Singaporean blogger to ever get into the prestigious Technorati Global Top 100 Blogs list; she has been a fixture there ever since.

Numerous publications such as The New Paper, Today, and Maxim Magazine, have invited Wendy to write for them, marking her transition from blogger to mainstream columnist. In 2006, she was engaged by The Straits Times as one of the Star Bloggers for their web portal STOMP.

Ever the media maget, Wendy has been featured on television, radio and print numerous times. She has appeared on TV channels like Channel News Asia and MediaCorp Channel 8, to numerous magazines like Cleo and Her World. She has also been in practically every major newspaper there is in Singapore, from The Straits Times to Lianhe Wanbao.

Wendy is also an ambassador for Singapore’s anti-smoking campaign for women, ‘Get Fresh’, together with other famous personalities such as Denise Keller, Eunice Olsen and Jamie Yeo.
